DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
The Etekcity Scroll X1 has a black matte finish and made of glossy plastic which does collect finger prints. The mouse is designed for right hand users only, sorry left hand gamers and has 60 grams of weights for extra resistance as well as a rubberized grip to prevent slip. The mouse has large buttons which made them easy to reach while gaming and also has an ergonomic design which I found no problem with claw style or finger tip gripping.
The copper braided wire did allow for some stretch resistance and the gold plated USB add some extra durability.
SPECS AND FEATURES
The Scroll X1 has seven programmable buttons and 3 DPI settings (1200, 1600,and 2400) which are set to a fix LED color of red, blue or green. During game play I found the mouse to have smooth movements thanks to the adjustable polling rate which can be set between 125 and 1000Hz. The mouses smooth movement gave me improved accuracy during first person shooters and the anti-skid pads on the bottom of the mouse helped glide of mouse across my mouse pad without issue.
The included software allowed me to program all seven buttons, click speed and the polling rate but as said before unfortunately the Etekcity Scroll X1 doesn’t allow the LEDs to be programmed by the user for the different DPI settings like the allreli M811Lu Shark series gaming mouse.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
When it came to gaming with the Scroll X1 I have no major complaints, I think it did the job well, was comfortable to play with and very responsive. My only issue was it would have been nice to be able to set the LED colors for the different DPI setting but not a major issue and as I was playing I eventually picked up which color was which DPI settings. I believe the mouse was build of great quality and even though it is consider a cheap gaming mouse this didn’t show in the construction of the mouse.
