Over time there has been many games that were in development that we might have been looking forward to and for whatever reason the developer cancelled. What a disappointment? However, sometimes fans get what they want later down the road when a company like Piko Interactive see an opportunity to bring a great lost game to market and that game is Dragon Sword for the N64.
DRAGON SWORD HISTORY
Dragon Sword was set to release between 1997 and 1998. This was a year or so after the Nintendo 64 release date which was September 26, 1996, and would have made a great addition to the n64 lineup. Team Storm which was part of the Interactive Studios family was the original creators of the game who you might recognize as the creators of the 1998 platformer Glover. Unfortunately, due to unknown complications Dragon Sword never made in on store shelves and gamers were deprived of the experience.
Now thanks to a retro video game collector a Dragon Sword beta was release in 2010 to the retro video game community but obviously this was a buggy and incomplete version of the game but it was the only way of experience this abandoned game up till now.
Dragon Sword Completed by Piko Interactive
Finally twenty years later Piko Interactive has hinted at completing the unreleased Dragon Sword game for the Nintendo 64 by tweeting they have acquired the source code and rights to the game.
Someone just secured the rights of Dragon Sword for N64. With Source code. Hopefully the game can be finished. pic.twitter.com/Q6J71NKCi4— Piko Interactive (@Pikointeractive) January 29, 2019
Now other then that tweet there is no other information or any posts on their website taking about the completion of the game and nothing is written in stone but it’s always excited to read news of new nintendo 64 games being release or revisited.
LET ME KNOW BELOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBLE RELEASE OF DRAGON SWORD ON THE NINTENDO 64! DID YOU REMEMBER WHEN THIS GAME WAS SUPPOSE TO BE RELEASE INITIALLY OR IS THIS THE FIRST TIME LEARNING ON THE GAME?
